Coaching

Find a trainer, or become one

Every coach listed here has produced their licence, their registration and their qualifications, and somebody has checked them. This page says exactly what that means.

If you want coaching

Find a trainer

Search by sport, by area, and — if the sessions are for your child — by whether the coach has been checked to work with under-18s. You see what they coach, what level, which languages they speak, and what they charge.

Nobody appears on that list until their evidence has been checked by a person here. Not uploaded — checked.

If you coach

Become a trainer

Build your profile in the app, add your evidence, and send it to us. We check each document and come back to you. Once you are listed, players near you can find you.

The standards are below, in full, before you start — not discovered one rejection at a time.

What you need

The standards, in full

These follow the UAE's own requirements rather than a set we invented. Three tiers, and they add up — tier two does not replace tier one. Requirements vary by emirate and by what you coach, and this is not legal advice: what we do is ask for the evidence, check it, and list nobody who has not produced it.

Tier 1 · everyone

You may lawfully be paid for this work

Trade licence or freelance permit — The licence that covers sports instruction — a free zone or DED licence of your own, a freelance permit, or the academy's if you coach for one. The sports instruction activity code is 8541.01.

Professional indemnity cover — Liability insurance. REPs UAE requires it before they will register you, and it is the thing that matters on the one day it matters.

Tier 2 · everyone

You are qualified, and on the register

REPs UAE registration — The UAE's Register of Exercise Professionals, which works to the ICREPs global standards. Exercise professionals are required to be registered to work in the country. It lapses, and we track the expiry.

Your coaching qualification — The certification behind the registration — internationally recognised (ACE, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, ACSM, UK Level 3 Active IQ or CIMSPA), or the federation's own for a team sport: UEFA, ICC, FIBA or equivalent. Recorded per sport, because a padel certificate says nothing about coaching cricket.

Current first aid and CPR — Required by REPs, and a pitch is where somebody goes down.

Tier 3 · only if you coach under-18s

Working with children

Child protection certificate — Safeguarding training, current.

Police clearance certificate — A good conduct certificate.

The duty to report, acknowledged — Wadeema's Law — Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 on Child Rights — covers every child under 18 in the UAE, whatever their nationality or residency. Article 42 places a mandatory duty to report a child exposed to harm on anyone entrusted with their protection, care or education. A coach is such a person, and failing to report can carry criminal liability. You acknowledge this explicitly, and we record when.

Saying you coach children only ever adds to this list. It is a statement about what you intend to do, never a permission — and a coach already listed for adults who starts coaching children goes back for review before anything changes on their profile.

Which certificates, and how to get each one

The list above is what you need. The next page is what we accept for each one, what the document has to show, where you actually go to obtain it, and how often it has to be renewed — plus the order to do them in, because they depend on each other and one of them expires while you wait.

Certificates, and how to get them

Academies and public facilities

Dubai Sports Council approval applies to sports academies and coaching centres, and separately where coaching happens inside a government-affiliated or public sports facility. It sits on top of your trade licence rather than replacing it. We record it when you have it and do not demand it of an individual coaching on private pitches — requiring it of everybody would keep the freelance coach this platform is for off the platform.

How it is checked

Uploaded is not the same as checked

The difference matters most to the person least able to check for themselves.

1

You build a profile

Sport, level, area, languages, experience, and what you charge. Nobody can see it — it is a draft until you send it.

2

You add your evidence

Each document separately, with who issued it and when it expires. It counts for nothing at this point: uploading a certificate is a claim.

3

We check each one

One at a time, by a person, against the standards above. Not one button marking everything done — that is a button people press.

4

You are listed

And only then. Players near you can find you, filter to your sport, and see what you were checked for.

5

It stays true, or you come off

Registration and first aid lapse. When one does, you stop being listed that day — without anybody having to notice. Renew it and you are back.

A coach running a session on a floodlit pitch

What a parent sees

That the coach was checked, and what for. Never the licence number itself — that identifies a document rather than describing one, and it stays with us.

Photographs of children

Albums are private to the people who played, only they can post, and anybody in a photo can take it down without giving a reason. There is no face detection anywhere in this product and there will not be. Publishing somebody's image without their consent is a criminal matter here.

What you can do today

Be found

By sport, by area, and by whether you are checked for under-18s.

Show what you were checked for

Each qualification, per sport, with who issued it.

Run sessions on any pitch

Book the pitch in the app and open the session on it, like any other game.

A session short a player gets filled

The same matcher as everything else. A session that would have been cancelled is not.

Set what you charge

Shown on your profile, per hour.

English and العربية

Right to left throughout.

Taking payment is not switched on yet

You arrange payment with the player directly. The rate on your profile is what you charge; nothing moves through us. Paying for a block of sessions up front — eight Tuesdays, paid once — is a different thing again, because it needs a refund rule that survives a coach cancelling in week three. That waits on our payment gateway, and it is the reason coaching sat unbuilt for as long as it did.
